The journey to newness is a long, winding, dark road.
It may almost be too unbearable to unbuckle and begin. And yet it is always necessary.
The preparation for such expedition is not written in books nor is it spoken by people.
You must make the first step, alone, with a willing heart.
The eyes are not familiar with blindness and the body is not accustomed to cold.
I know that this can be terrifying.
When the unknown honks outside your door and you wave goodbye to the known your steps may feel heavy in the beginning, as if you are stuck in quicksand
Your mind may try and trick you to turn back.
I promise you this,
Your smile will light up the path.
Your heart will guide you to where you need to go.
Your brain will finally understand the why.
Your eyes will be opened wide.
Your feet will soon feel like they are floating.
And your whole body will feel warm, yet free.
Serendipities, coincidences, and magic will happen consistently.
I am not saying that it will be easy, but it will be worth it.
Before you know it you have traveled long and far,
You take a moment to look back.
These magical experiences and the many things you learned fill you with joy.
And you realize that without that first step, you would not be here.
